Item Description
1.25” button shows Chinese character created by Sax Rohmer. Button promotes 1939 thrice weekly broadcast based on Rohmer’s novels. Gail Gordon was Dr. James Petrie and Bruno Lang was Fu Manchu. Three years earlier, they were respectively, radio's Flash Gordon and Ming The Merciless. Reverse has original but blank back paper. A little faint grey age tone on the character’s head but almost no surface wear and exceptionally high gloss. Second is 2.5x4.25” envelope which includes program title along with “Radio’s Greatest Serial Program/Compliments Of KDKA.” Envelope has a long split down the left hand side and a split across the top. Back of the envelope is blank except for a paper sticker reading “Premium Library” indicating that this was once in the archives of General Mills. Envelope still displays cleanly and with it come a pair of 2” long metal keys that originally were joined together and the object was to “Separate The Mystic Keys.” Keys are Mint.
