Item Description
This exhibitor book is not to be confused w/the rare American version, this is the even rarer English version, the first we have seen in our 48 years. 9x12" w/40 pages. Published by Rawlings & Walsh, Ltd. and issued in 1932 w/very limited print run, only sent to English theater owners/managers. This is considered the first English merchandise catalog. A similar format book was issued in 1932 and distributed to American theater owners/managers but w/much different content related to American clubs, merchandise, ads, etc. We have only offered a few of the American versions over the years w/an average realized sale price of $3,000. Front cover title reads "Exhibitors Complete Campaign From Walt Disney's Mickey And Silly Symphonies." Contents include great illustrations and photos throughout including specialty art and merchandise ads. Article on benefits of forming Mickey Mouse clubs and illustration of campaign folder available for that purpose. Included is list of English licensees and products each produced. Ads include - Paragon China, English silverware and jewelry, tin toys (see Mickey Mouse Drummer, #1765), lobby displays, Dean's dolls, books, etc. Additional pages feature newspaper ads, movie stills, lobby cards, movie posters and six pages of articles pertaining to Walt Disney, Mickey Mouse's creation and career. Back cover features collage of articles from various English publications. Pinch creases to spine and some scattered corner creases. Book has some lt. handling wear but is Fine/VF overall. From the Maurice Sendak Collection and comes with COA.
