Item numbers 1008 through 2793 in auction 214
Item Description
Original but heavily worn cardboard box w/lid contains 15-piece tin litho tea set. Unmarked but likely made in Germany, c. 1915. Set consists of six place settings, w/six 3.5" dia. saucers w/image of Big Bad Wolf in Grandmother's clothing in bed, a "Red Riding Hood" book on nightstand. In addition, set comes w/six 2" tall handled cups w/image of Red Riding Hood. As well as Red Riding Hood images, pieces feature nice Art Nouveau framing embellishments. Other pieces in set include 1.5" tall open creamer, 3" tall teapot w/lid and 2.25" dia. open sugar. Pieces show scattered aging/wear to silver flashing, w/some scattered small nicks scratches. Fine overall. Box shows heavy and obvious wear w/corner split and several tears to side of lid. Good.
