Item Description
The Cinnamon Bear was a 26 chapter radio serial broadcast each year between Thanksgiving and Christmas over the Chicago station WGN and sponsored by Wieboldt’s Department Store. This lot consists of 9x12” sheet music with 1937 copyright. Cover shows two children and the Bear waving as Santa with reindeer pulling his sled flies through the sky. Interior has music and verses. Exc. condition. Second item is a thin silver foil star 4” tall with green imprint showing the Bear with text below “Merry Christmas Paddy O’Cinnamon.” Star has three or four tiny and trivial pinpoint indents. Overall condition remains Exc. This star played a big part in the narrative of the program. These two original items come with a 1987 booklet 5.5x8.5” 64 pages. Book is subtitled “Searching For The Silver Star Since 1937” and includes a synopsis of the radio serial and many other features. Only the second star we’ve been able to offer.
