Item Description
First is a 2.7x5” paper, first we’ve seen, serving as an advertisement for the “Captain Gallant Foreign Legion Hat/As Worn By ‘Cuffy’…” Premium was available from Heinz which dates it to the 1955-1957 era. Next is 2-1/8” tall silver luster white metal badge with paper insert showing Buster Crabbe in his role as Captain Gallant. Couple tiny dots of black color off top edge of the paper but otherwise Exc. and with Mint luster. Pinned to a cardboard which was cut from a larger store display sheet. Next is a litho tin tab although missing the stem. This was a Heinz premium awarding the rank of “Junior Legionnaire.” Last and also circa 1956 is 1.25” button showing Cuffy with text “Captain Gallant” and name of bread sponsor “Holsum.” Small brown dot on bottom edge but rest is Mint. A rare button.
