Issued by Gum Inc. in 1935. ACC# R90. The 24 cards in this set are numbered 97-120 as numbering continued from the standard set of 96 cards (see item #2630). However, these cards are much rarer making them one of the most desirable and elusive gum card sets of any era. The cards are rare due to licensing issues concerning the likenesses of the stars used on the cards so these cards had a very short distribution run. 2.5x3” with art on front, text back. Cards are #102 Joan Bennett, #106 Charlie Chaplin, #109 Jimmy Durante, #117 Wallace Beery, #120 Laurel & Hardy. #102 has most of reverse surface covered by paper as once mounted. All others have about 25% back surface paper loss from scrapbook removal. All have some very lt. surface creases. Fronts remain clean and overall still display Good.
