Item Description
5-7/8x15.5" thin artboard has four panels of original pen and ink art for March 25, 1974 daily strip. Universal Press Syndicate notation at left in first panel w/G.B. Trudeau copyright. Each panel features same image of The White House, w/wooden fort fence in foreground, an arrow stuck in one stake. This was during the days of Watergate and President Nixon was on the outs. Dialog above art is discussion between Nixon and an adviser, the adviser stating that Nixon is running out of places in which he's welcome to speak. Nixon demands he look again, to which the adviser notes that the small town of Fritters, AL. is perfect as the small population is all white w/95% working on government contracts. Trudeau has signed his name in last panel. All panels have some white correctional fluid, more prevalent on first and last panels. Margins have some aging as once framed, but art itself remains clean and VF. Nice early "Doonesbury" strip w/great Nixon commentary.
