Item Description
8.5x11-3/8" first edition Random House book, ©1939 Walt Disney Productions. 72 pages w/contents featuring artist sketches along w/full color film scenes. Complete w/two-page Monstro the Whale insert picture tipped in as issued. Book features art of Pinocchio and Jiminy Cricket on front, image of Jiminy w/"Official Conscience" medal on back. Front endpapers and title page have been signed by Walt Disney Productions Vice-President Gunther Lessing in ink, front endpapers dated "11/4/39." Lesser was the Disney Brothers' primary lawyer beginning in 1929 and staying w/them almost 35 years. Dedication page w/letter from Walt Disney has been boldly inscribed in black ink by Disney himself, writing "To Gunny - In Appreciation Of His Devotion - Walt Disney." Disney signature is big and bold, measuring 5" wide. Margins of this page have some lt. aging but page is clean and displays Exc. Rest of book has some general handling wear w/minor color rubs to covers and a few small scattered impressions/indentations on back cover. Fine/VF copy of the rare and desirable Disney book, further enhanced by Disney's signature and personal inscription to a vital and long-serving friend and employee. Comes with Hake's COA and COA from Phil Sears, recognized as the premier Walt Disney autograph specialist.
