Item Description
4.25x7x2" deep box contains complete three-piece toy c. 1961. Right side of box pushed in slightly. Box complete w/ intert, Fine. Set consists of a hand-held spring-loaded activator and pair of tin litho tops, each 3" long w/2" dia. Tops were designed to represent the actual spacecraft used on America's first two manned space flights. One is marked "Freedom" which was manned by Shepherd, the other is "Liberty Bell" manned by Grissom and both flights took place in 1961. Both tops spin rapidly when used in conjunction w/activator unit and produce a faint "whistling" sound. Set is Exc. Great design.
