10-7/8x14" Saalfield coloring book No. 1151 is abridged reprint of their 1940 coloring book No. 1501. ©1957 NPP, Inc. This later printing features the same art as the first 1940 printing (w/44 pages) but w/a slightly different text layout. This version has 16 pages. Front cover has inkstamp noting this as a "Permanent File Copy - Return Promptly To Library Desk," indicating it as a Saalfield file copy. Cover shows wear w/.5" spots of surface paper off front top corners and pinch creases to spine. In addition to inkstamp, lower left front has small piece of paper w/"1151" inked number taped to cover. Tape has since aged. Pages remain unused and evenly aged. Fine overall. Coloring book comes w/four approx. 12.5x17.5" positive production film sheets showing front cover design. These are broken down by color (black, blue, red, yellow) and have some touch-up paint where needed to print. Sheets show lt. aging/handling wear. VF/Exc. overall. Desirable as a file copy and further enhanced by the inclusion of the original production film sheets. Franco Toscanini Collection.
