Item Description
Pair of boxed sets both featuring Thornton Burgess's Peter Rabbit characters. "Burgess Kiddie Kards" come in 3.75x6.25" cardboard box w/illustrated lid. Includes greeting postcard set published by University Greeting Card Co. and featuring text by Burgess w/art by Harrison Cady and Nina Stout. Contains set of eight unused cards and six unused envelopes. Cards have some lt. even aging (slightly darker on about half) and envelopes are lightly aged. VF-Exc. Box has scattered dust soiling and handling wear but remains tight and Fine. 5.25x10-3/8" Quaddy-ettes cardboard box w/illustrated lid label shows all characters including - Peter Rabbit, Mrs. Peter Rabbit, Danny Meadow Mouse, Hooty the Owl, Grandfather Frog and others featured as full color die-cut cardboard standees on wooden bases. All feature art on fronts signed H. Cady (see Cady original art #1556) and text on reverses by Burgess. ©1915 Box shows moderate wear/aging and is VG/Fine while contents appear unused and NM. Great design. Scarce.
