Item Description
Original cardboard box has lid w/illustrated paper label and contains toy w/overall size of 5x7x9" tall. Made in Occupied Japan by Alps, 1940s. Toy depicts young girl at the beach, her body and separate head are celluloid and she holds ball and sits in simulated wicker chair which is tin. Celluloid goose on one side while other side has tin table w/separate celluloid bowl of fruit and toy sailboat. Table houses metal rod that holds included 5.25" dia. celluloid umbrella w/celluloid ball accents. Base is tin and nicely illustrated on all sides including beach scene w/adults and children, cabanas, on back features road scene w/car driving by house. Toy no longer works as spring slips, but toy remains Exc. for display. Box lid has two corner splits and 1.25" edge tear w/.5x1.25" piece out at one corner. Fine overall.
