Item Description
18" tall litho tin toy w/11" dia. base. 1950s. Toy has built-in key and works. When wound, four rocket cars revolve and swing out slightly. These tin litho cars, each containing figural head of boy and girl riders, are mounted on A-shaped wire frames braced w/1.5x2" tin litho panels depicting clowns. Cars also have thin plastic propellers. Three of the four have propellers present. Of those, two show moderate to obvious wear but replacements are readily available online. Images on tower in center include ticket seller and children. Base is marked w/trademark "J. Chein" shield. Aside from the aforementioned propeller repairs and dent to one car, toy is VF w/just lt. wear. One of the classics of the carnival ride designed toys.
