Item Description
Lot of two buttons and four postcards, each w/distinct Anti-Axis design/message. 1940s. First button is rare 3.5" dia. size Hitler "Wanted For Murder" button, typically seen in its 1.25" size. This larger version is much rarer. In addition to bold slogan, ominous portrait and pair of swastikas additional text reads "Adolph Schickelgruber Alias 'Hitler'." Superb condition w/high gloss. NM. Second button is the rarest variety of the classic "Let's Pull Together" mechanical button featuring Uncle Sam pulling on noose around Hitler's neck, stringing him up. Produced by Evans Novelty Co. of Chicago, IL, this is the first of at least three versions. On this version Hitler's die-cut tin head and chest have tiny tab on painted gray reverse through which thin wire is inserted. Other end of wire is held by pair of tiny tabs. Scattered wear w/.25" sliver of bare metal showing on Uncle Sam's farthest hand. Fine/VF. Lot also includes four 3.5x5.5" glossy bw postcards, each featuring caricatured images of Axis leaders including Hitler, Mussolini and Tojo. Cards are unused but show obvious handling wear w/scattered dust soiling. VG overall.
