Item Description
5.75" tall (9" tall to top of handle) tin litho sand pail made in England by Chad Valley, 1930s. Sides feature great beach scene w/children and mermaid girls, including group watching Punch and Judy puppet show and building sand castle. Bottom has built-in starfish sand mold. Pail's interior shows wear w/scattered oxidation to base. Exterior has some scattered wear in the form of small nicks/scratches and remnants of original store price sticker about puppet show image. Rims show moderate wear w/some oxidation. Exterior remains bright and glossy. VG/Fine overall. Comes w/9.5" long generic tin litho sand shovel. Doug & Pat Wengel Collection.
