Item Description
Lot of three photos, measuring between 2-7/8x3-7/8" and 3-3/8x4-5/8". c. late 1930s. Two photos feature children posing in front of display of life-size Lone Ranger (wearing different outfit in each picture) on the back of a rearing Silver. One features two young boys in cowboy hats w/toy guns drawn, w/partial Lone Ranger/Gimbel sign visible. Small inked "Dec. 1939" text at bottom. Same date inked on reverse. Bottom .5" has trace wear from tape removal, but VF overall. Other features single young boy (also w/cowboy hat w/toy gun). Scattered lt. edge wear. VF. Last photo shows young boy grinning w/toy gun in each hand and cowboy hat on his head as he poses between life-size Lone Ranger and Tonto mannequins. Tonto wears a headdress much like the one worn by radio's Tonto John Todd in Silvercup premiums. Photo has tiniest trace of edge wear. VF/Exc. All of these souvenir photos are rare and we've only offered a few of them in our 48 years, and this is the first example we've offered w/Tonto.
