Item Description
Five items. Largest 15x22"/smallest 18x13.5". First advertises former U.S. Supreme Court Justice Arthur Goldberg with labor lawyer & Harlem political leader Basil Paterson during their run for Gov/Lt. Gov in 1970. Next two posters c. 1970 and feature Paterson first in English and second in Spanish. Paterson gave up his NY Senate seat to run in this campaign and was also the father of future Governor David Paterson. Toning at edges and minor creases from handling. VF. Next poster features Virginia Bell and reads at top "Help Harlem's Lady Lawmaker Help Harlem" and advertises her candidacy for State Senator from the 27th district. Corner wear most notable at lower right. VF/Exc. Last poster c. 1966 and features Simeon Golar "For Attorney General Of New York State" also advertised are "Franklin D. Roosevelt Jr. For Governor, Donald S. Harrington For Lt. Governor, and Arthur Levitt For Comptroller". Golar was known as a champion for public housing. 12 staple holes throughout and small handling creases most notable a crease at bottom left corner. VG. Marshall Levin Collection.
