10.5x13.25" Feb. 1957 issue of "The National Police Gazette" features "Floyd Patterson - World's Heavyweight Champion" cover photo and three-page article w/photos. Front cover has been signed in blue felt tip pen by Patterson (1935-2006), who at the age of 21 became the youngest man to win the world heavyweight title. He was also the first heavyweight boxer to regain the title and won a gold medal at the 1952 Olympics. Issue has moderate pinch creases and aging to spine and some scattered handling wear. Fine overall, but signature remains Exc. Comes w/6-3/8x9-5/8" hardcover autobiography "I Never Played The Game" by renowned sportscaster Howard Cosell (w/Peter Bonventure). Published by William Morrow and Company, Inc. in 1985, book is complete w/photo dust jacket and has been signed in blue felt tip pen on second page listing Cosell's other books, w/Cosell adding "With My Best Wishes" inscription. Cosell provided color commentary for some of Patterson's later bouts and interviewed the boxing legend a number of times. DJ shows wear/aging along edge and at top/bottom of spine. Fine. Book itself is Exc. Nice pair of signed items featuring the signatures of two members of the International Boxing HOF. Comes with Hake's COA and JSA COAs.
