Item Description
10x14x7" tall. This item was originally commissioned to Keith Kaonis as a specialty piece in 1995 at a cost of $900. Kaonis is known for his one-of-a-kind wooden Disney and other folk art creations. This is constructed mostly of wood along w/rubber arms/legs on the figures as well as metal tails and eyelashes on Minnie Mouse. Superbly crafted, painted and detailed. Mickey Mouse stands next to the piano Minnie is playing and attached to this is facsimile "Minnie's Yoo Hoo - Mickey Mouse Theme Song" sheet music. Next to the piano is a pot w/fabric flowers and a fabric rug is attached to the simulated hardwood floor. This image is based on the last panel of the March 6, 1932 "Mickey Mouse" Sunday page by Floyd Gottfredson. Kaonis has added "Mickey And Minnie With Apologies To Walter E. Disney" text on the back panel of the piano in ink, signing and dating piece July 1995. One of Mickey's wrists has a minor .25" hairline in the rubber material only noticeable when viewed closely and this hand still remains firmly attached to the piano and piece is o/w Mint as made. Unique.
