Item Description
Pair of large, 10 lb. tins that originally held salted peanuts. Both early 1900s. "'Betty' Brand Salted Peanuts" features great image of woman carrying basket. Bettman Nut Co. Inc. of New York. Tin was made by Fein's Tin Can Co. Back of tin lists other salted nuts including Almonds, Pecans, Walnuts, etc. Missing lid, tin shows moderate wear w/number of indentations, scattered nicks/scratches to lithography and oxidation to interior. VG. "Olive Brand High Grade Salted Blanched Peanuts" features olive imagery and includes "Hand Picked - Extra Selected Nuts" text on sides. Roblin-Demerath Co. of Rochester, NY. Tin was made by W.B. Bertels & Son Co. Complete w/lid. Moderate scattered wear in the form of nicks/scratches w/some areas of bare metal showing. Interior has some scattered oxidation. VG.
