Auction #215 - Part II
Item numbers 988 through 2613 in auction 215
Item Description
9" tall painted composition figure depicting a scowling, semi-long bill Donald Duck holding a life preserver ring. At the center of the life preserver is a partial raised wax-like seal for Norddeutscher Lloyd passenger/shipping line based out of Bremen, Germany. Mid-1930s. We are unsure of the purpose of this figure, but it may have been sold on board passenger ships through a gift shop or given to travel agents for display. Underside has "Used With Permission Of Walt Disney Ent." text. Figure has all-over general aging and scattered paint wear to brim of hat, bill and bow tie. 1" sliver of paint off one eyebrow, blends somewhat. Fine overall. Unusual figure.
