Item Description
In this group there are ten membership cards each about 3.5” to 4.5”. A pair of real photo postcards 5.5” wide with their original envelope, and eight buttons or badges 5/8” to 2”. All of the cards have inked or typed name of the club member Helen Bailey. Many of these are first we’ve seen items and many if not all related to California radio stations and programs. From our photo, more or less top to bottom, the group begins with button for “Tarzan Signal Club” and its rare matching membership card. Next is Jimmie Allen Flying Club card and matching Richfield Hi-Octane wings badge. One corner crease on the card. Next is button and card for “Franco Junior Hi-Jinks Club.” Next is rare membership card, the first we’ve seen, for the Brown Bilt Club with its much more frequently seen matching button. Next is button and card for World Flight Club Of Peerless Laundry. Next is card only for rank of “Lieutenant” in Colonel Roscoe Turner’s Flying Corps. Next is card for “KFOX/Markwell Taffy Chewers.” Next is card for Gilmore Red Lion Record Breaker Club. Light crease. Next is card and button for Van de Camp’s Holland Dutch Bakers World Flight Club. A single pinhole on the card. Next is card and metal badge for Billy Swift/Secret Service/KFOX. The metal badge has the same text. From the same station comes “I Belong To The MTC/KFOX Club” and we just realized this is the button that goes with the Taffy Chewers card. Also see KFOX related items #1160. Last are a pair of real photo post cards with envelope also from the Van de Camp’s World Flight Club. All items are NM to Mint with the few small noted exceptions. An outstanding collection of rarities.
