Item Description
10.5x23.5" fragile thin paper. Promotes a pair of games between Veracruz Aguila and Santa Rosa Gallos that took place June 24-25, 1939 at the Veracruz Sports Park. Center left has photo of HOFer Martin Dihigo. Below this is a list of rosters for both teams. Aguila list includes Dihigo, Julio Rojo, Santos Amaro, Barney Brown, Agustin Verde and others. Extensive text in Spanish covers the front with much pertaining to Veracruz in addition to ticket prices and the typical game promotional fare. Lower right has printer name "Casa Del Nino." Extensive all over wear w/numerous margin tears that have clear tape repairs on the reverse but these bleed through to the front due to the thin paper stock. Top margin has 2x3" piece that has been reattached but tear lines blend well. Small bits of missing paper here and there but nothing significant. Remarkably the red paper stock retains strong color and all printing, including Dihigo's image, remains strong and bold. Would benefit from being linen mounted. However, as is, still the only example we know of. Personally owned by Martin Dihigo and comes w/COA signed by his son Gilberto Dihigo.
