Item Description
Glossy 8x10" vintage photo shows James Stewart in baseball uniform as Monty Stratton, preparing to pitch. "The Stratton Story" was a 1949 film directed by Sam Wood which tells the true story of Monty Stratton, who pitched for the Chicago White Sox from 1934-1938. Photo has been boldly signed in black felt tip pen by Stewart, who added "Best Wishes" inscription along w/"'Stratton Story'" film title. Photo has some lt. aging along margins and corner crease at bottom left. VF/Exc. Stewart was a prolific signer, but this is a very different signed piece by him. Comes with Hake's COA and JSA COA.
