Item Description
Large 20x54.5" tall vertical half-sheet poster features full body image of McCoy cradling rifle in his arms as he surveys the prairie. Printed by Erie Litho, c. 1937, his second and final season w/Ringlings. Promotional text at bottom reads "Col. Tim McCoy - Idol Of American Youth - Who Heads Thrilling Congress Of Rough Riders And Indians At Every Performance." Small penciled date at upper left corner and remnants of printed name at bottom center w/some surface paper lift. Poster retains strong color and has been folded w/a number of horizontal creases traversing poster. Moderate moisture staining along left side of poster which blends to a degree. Right center has 2.75x6" darker moisture stain. Lower right has 5.5" tear at McCoy's name, w/1.5" piece of tape. There is brown paper tape on reverse along this crease for reinforcement. 2.75" tear at lower left w/archival tape repair on reverse. Pin holes at corners and along margin borders (w/some tape staining), portions of which have been replaced, only noticeable upon close inspection. Good/VG overall, but would display nicely if framed. Rare. Fred Hoffman Collection.
