Item Description
8" long polished nickel finish cast-iron cap gun w/maroon swirl plastic grips, each having incised image of Lone Ranger on rearing Silver w/incised "Hi-Yo Silver" text. Kilgore, c. 1940s. Incised "Lone Ranger" name on left gun frame by top of grip. This is first model w/narrow hammer, though this has been sheared off as produced and right side has "Dummy" decal, which indicates this gun is incapable of firing caps. Decal shows wear, w/about 60% remaining. Around 1941, many states banned fireworks and caps. Toy manufacturers complied and produced dummy guns, similar to normal guns except they were incapable of firing caps. These varieties were manufactured in lesser quantities and are rarer and more valuable. As a "Dummy," gun remains unfired and Exc. Comes w/4.75x9.75" tooled leather holster from same time period. © TLR Inc. Belt panel at top features "Tonto" portrait and arrowhead designs while pocket features large "The Lone Ranger" name and portrait image inside horseshoe design w/"Hi-Yo Silver" text. Top panel shows wear from use, w/small tears by belt loops and oxidation to one metal attachment. Fine. Comes w/late 1930s Lone Ranger belt which shows has images of Lone Ranger, Tonto, etc. This shows obvious wear w/most images barely visible. VG and just comes along.
