6.25x8.5" receipt has official "Paramount Film Distributing Corporation" name at top w/double Paramount logo. Receipt is for Grand Theatre In New London, WI and has typed date of July 7, 1941. Receipt also has "Received" stamp at upper left w/July 11, 1941 date. Receipt lists Hopalong Cassidy Western "Pirates On Horseback" and rental price of $12.50 along w/weekly payment plan. Lower left has large "Paid" stamp and lower right has 1-5/16x2.25" sticker w/full body image of Superman w/"Superman Is Coming!" text w/Paramount logo and Superman, Inc. copyright. This sticker serves as an announcement of sorts to theaters regarding the then-upcoming "Superman" cartoons by Fleischer Studios (the first of which was released Sept. 26, 1941). Receipt has horizontal/vertical crease, but these do not greatly affect sticker. Exc. overall. Promotional sticker is first we've seen in our 48 years. Franco Toscanini Collection.
