Item Description
16-1/8x23-7/8" stiff cardboard poster for May 24, 1964 concert that took place at the Evergreen Ballroom in Olympia, WA that was headlined by Motown singer Marvin Gaye, w/"You Wonderful One, Pride And Joy, Hitch Hike" and "Can I Get A Witness" song titles listed by his large photo portrait image. Concert also featured The Spinners and "New Queen Of The Blues" Hattie Littles. Each act is represented w/photo portrait and song title. Poster was printed by Tilghman Press. Poster has had extensive professional restoration, w/all white/tan bkg. having been restored. Majority of text and pink accents remain untouched and photos have some scattered restoration; namely to nose, mouth and cheek/ear of Gaye and bottom of Spinners and Littles photos. 5" and 5.5" hairline surface slices at Gaye's name and across "You Wonderful One" song title. These do not detract greatly from overall appearance, which is Exc. as professionally restored. This early and historic concert poster is rare and hard to find in any condition.
