Item Description
Lot of 17 taxi-related items, dating from 1914 to the late 1950s. Lot includes four 2" to 2.25" tall heavy metal "Public Hack Driver" badges from New York City w/embossed text/serial number. Dated 1926, 1928, 1931 and 1932. 1932 badge includes celluloid encased license w/driver photo. The other license in this form is from 1930. 1931 badge is missing some gold from front left. Pair of screw posts/nuts on reverse. 1926/1928 metal badges are pin format and other 1932 badge has pair of raised slots w/openings but no pin. Lot also includes pair of 3x4-1/8" booklets titled "Public Hack Driver's License" dating to 1926 and 1928. Both feature photo/name of drivers. These have lt. minor wear. Other items in lot include 1914 Blue Bird Motor Cab Co. calendar card, 1921-1922 celluloid card holder w/"Member Union League" card from the "Quaker City Cab Co." of Philadelphia, PA. Card has “John Edmonds” name. 1936 cardboard calendar pad promoting "ABC Taxi," pocket mirrors for "Broadway Taxi Service" and "Yellow Taxi Service," 1948 Baltimore Police Department-issued "Taxi Bureau Driver" badge, celluloid-covered metal frame w/Rochester, NY 1952 taxi license and cardboard w/attached photo serving as 1947 Louisville, KY taxi license. Scattered aging w/varying degrees of wear. Fine-VF overall. See taxi item #658.
