Item Description
3.75x6" thin artboard card (w/onionskin overlay) features mixed media original art depicting bare-breasted woman w/large knife and spiked club in her hands. A noose hangs around her neck as she smokes a cigarette and her wrists have shackle bracelets as does one ankle. Art was created by S. Clay Wilson, an underground cartoonist and central figure in the Underground Comix movement. Wilson attracted attention from readers w/aggressively violent and sexually explicit panoramas of lowlife denizens, often depicting the wild escapades of pirates and bikers. He was an early contributor to "Zap Comix." Art has been hand-titled "Slave Girl In Revolt On A Far-Flung Island" at top left and was inscribed "For John Kelly - June 2001" at lower right, Wilson signing his name and adding copyright symbol. NM.
