Item Description
Heavy 17.25x19.25x1.5" deep rustic wood frame contains original oil painting that has been cloth-matted to 7.5x9.5". Art depicts two female Blacktail Deer at stream among the California Redwoods, a favorite subject of Garé Barks (1917-1993), a Hawaiian-born artist who primarily produced commercial work up until the late 1960s before turning her attention to landscapes. She was also the wife of legendary Disney artist Carl Barks. Garé has signed her first name at lower left. Back of canvas has Barks' stamp and painting's title. Exc. as framed and ready for display.
