Item Description
15.25x22.25" thin artboard has pen and ink original art by Bill Zaboly. For Oct. 5, 1958 "Popeye In Thimble Theatre" Sunday page, which features 12 panels (not counting paste-over title panel, which shows heavy aging from glue). Popeye is kept awake by dripping kitchen sink faucet and proves unable to fix it. He finally gives up and sets up hammock in kitchen next to sink, turning faucet on so that water sounds like "Waves Sloshin's Over Th' Deck" of ship Popeye spent many a night sleeping on. This proves to be Popeye's solution and he laughs in comfort in last panel. First panel has text strip paste-over in Popeye's dialogue balloon. Ninth panel has KFS copyright strip paste-over. Last panel has been dated and signed by both writer Tom Sims and Zaboly. Margins have editorial stamps/text and some preliminary blue penciling is visible. Lower left margin has tiny .25" nick, not affecting art. If matted and framed, would display Exc.
