Item Description
Pen and ink original art for Oct. 1, 1958 daily strip is on 8.25x27.75" thin artboard and features four panels w/Etta paying back her father the two dollars she borrowed before asking to borrow another five. Confused, her father asks why she didn't just keep the two dollars and ask to borrow three more, causing Etta to respond that she wants to keep her credit good. Second panel has KFS copyright strip paste-over and pinholes at top corners w/staple holes along top/bottom margin. Art is Exc. Pen and ink original art for Oct. 26, 1958 Sunday page is on 19x27" thin artboard and features eight panels (not counting title panel). Art features Etta calling home at 1AM to get a ride home from dance as she had had a fight w/her date. Her father gets up, dresses and goes to pick her up. Etta arrives home an hour later w/o her father, having made up w/her date. Last panel shows phone ringing as father calls home. Etta appears in last three panels. Last panel has KFS copyright strip paste-over. Scattered margin wear w/pinholes/staple holes at corners w/some editorial notations at margins. Upper right has some creasing but for the main part, aside from two aged strips of replaced text (in second and last panel), art remains clean and Exc. Both pieces of art were by "Etta Kett" creator Paul Robinson, who has signed and dated each in last panel.
