Item Description
First is 11x17.5" paper sheet which is printed to look like Wild West poster w/"The Merita Lone Ranger Salesmen's Club" title. Part of "Merita's '49 Gold Rush" of 1949, document has typed salesman's name w/embossed gold seal at bottom left. Text includes "Whereas (salesman's name) Desires Membership In The Merita Lone Ranger Salesman's Club And Signifies His Willingness To Follow The Lone Ranger's High Ideals Of Integrity, Loyalty And Straight Shooting Aggressiveness, And Whereas He Pledges To Abide By The Principles Of The Merita Creed And The Rules Of The Lone Ranger Salesman's Club As Listed Below..." Below are ten "Rules Of Membership." Bottom has facsimile signature of Lone Ranger w/real signatures of plant manager, sales supervisor and prospector. It appears there are other salesmen's signatures on back in pencil. Scattered handling wear w/vertical crease and three horizontal creases as folded. Fine. Rare and only the second we've seen in our 48 years. Comes w/1.5" dia. plastic keychain designed like medal w/"Merita - Bread - Cakes" text on one side and image of loaf of bread w/"Real Bread Flavor" text on the other. From same time period as document. Evenly aged. VF.
