Item Description
1.5” showing buck-toothed young boy, somewhat reminiscent in looks and speech of the Yellow Kid in a baseball outfit and wearing a baseball fielder’s glove or catcher’s mitt. He says “Say! Look Me Up In De Pittsburg Sunday Dispatch” with curved cursive signature “Yures Trulie Pickle Neary.” Below is artists’ tiny monogram looking something like a miniature sailboat. Bottom edge is inscribed “Copyright 1903.” Celluloid has three tiny tan dots at 2 o’clock and a slight raised bump on edge at 10 o’clock. Reverse has some brown spots around the collet and back holds paper from Balto. Badge & Nov. Co. We’ve seen only about four examples of this over five decades. High gloss. Fine. Paul Muchinsky Collection.
