Item Description
Original cardboard box w/illustrated lid contains 9-3/8" tall tin litho robot w/clear plastic dome head and rubber hands (that have hardened w/age). 5" long painted tin remote control attached w/original wire. Made in Japan by Alps, 1950s. Box has original die-cut cardboard insert which shows moderate wear w/tears and punctures. Original cardboard that slips over robot's head is also present. Lid has 1.5" wide strip of tape staining/tape remnants w/two small punctures to main panel at this area. Lid has some moderate aging and has neat glue repair to 2.25" tear on left side panel. Christmas label on box bottom. VG. Robot's chest has door that opens to access lightbulb. Remote control functions include walking and revolving head w/flash. All works. Tin litho body has some lt. scattered wear in the form of small nicks/scratches. Clear plastic dome has a few scuffs, o/w Fine overall. Gary Keller Collection.
