Item Description
10.5x15.75" thin artboard has pen and ink original art for first splash page of May, 1979 issue of Marvel Comics' "Tarzan." Splash page features Tarzan leaving Pellicidar (at the Earth's core) w/Pierre LeClarc after defeating The Mad Arab. Splash page features nice near full body image of Tazan w/knife on his hip. Art was for "Epilogue" storyline written by Bill Mantlo w/art by popular Marvel artist Sal Buscema w/inks by Bob Hall. Top features "Tarzan" title strip paste-over and features hand-lettered creative staff names below it. All text in splash page image area has been hand-lettered by Clem Robins. Publisher indica at bottom is paste-over. Back has full body rough sketch of Tarzan. Some scattered faint blue pencil editorial notations at margins and a few small spots of white correctional fluid touch-ups, but art is o/w Exc.
