Item Description
Complete and extensive display issued to stores to promote General Electric Mazda lightbulbs in 1941. Comes w/original illustrated shipping label showing pie-cut eye Mickey and Minnie Mouse (images dating to 1935) but label and all other materials are dated 1941 and all but label shows corresponding images of Mickey from that time. Label shows display set up. Moderate aging/wear and just comes along. Comes w/8-3/8x10-7/8" display guide "Display Digest" folder showing elaborate store display within and ties in w/"The Saturday Evening Post" advertising campaign. 20.5x41" tall die-cut cardboard display w/easel back and four circular openings (each w/tear) at top designed to hold G-E Mazda lightbulbs. Display illustrations include Mickey Mouse removing lightbulb from lamp to replace bulb. Pluto angrily barks "Bulb-Snatcher" at him Mickey says "Buy Extra G-E Mazda Lamps Today", Minnie adds "They Stay Brighter Longer." Display shows large image of lightbulb. Prices are listed for "Popular Sizes" at side. Tape reinforcement added to back of center fold. Scattered edge/corner tip wear w/aging at top. Fine overall. 15.25x28.5" paper window sign w/gummed left/right margins on front showing similar Mickey and Pluto image as on standee display along w/image of box of bulbs. Left margin has some surface paper remnants and right margin shows obvious wear w/.5x1" piece missing from top right. VG. Smaller standee w/easel back measures 16x22" and features four die-cut holes at top for bulb display. Standee has billboard image of Mickey and Pluto on printed image of advertisement that appeared in "The Saturday Evening Post." Slot tab at bottom left has .5" tear, o/w standee is VF. Also comes w/two additional die-cut cardboard display pieces. These assemble to form bulb storage areas on fronts of standees for sales. Comes w/"Anti-Bulbsnatching Guide Chart" and a number of unassembled die-cut individual bulb holders and a number of individual cardboard price tags. Varying degrees of handling wear/aging. Fine-VF overall.
