Item Description
Hand-addressed envelope to collector in California with December 19, 1974 postmark contains 8.5x11" sheet of lined paper with 4-paragraph, hand-written letter. Letter is in reference to the sale of "Voodoo-Hoodoo" painting. Barks notes "The Painting Is Ready. Based On The Average Price I Have Received For The Last 25 Paintings This One 14x18" Comes To $1,050.00." He goes on to mention a convention in New York in early January that he needs to supply with one "masterpiece." Letter is signed in full and has a 2.5" tall sketch of his creation "Uncle Scrooge" at the bottom saying "And Merry Christmas." Comes with a 2x2" full color slide of the painting. Letter has folds as mailed but remains clean and displays Exc. Light aging to envelope, Fine. Slide NM. Historic group relating to an important painting at a time when the price on Barks oils were beginning to skyrocket. Comes with Hake's COA.
