Item Description
Powerful speaker 1903-1911 and 1908 GOP hopeful. Photo reads "Copyright 1906 Harris & Ewing Washington DC." Striking 7.5x9.5" portrait. Outer edges extremely silvered to depth of .75" but this actually adds to visual appeal in our opinion. Photo mounted on buff board and he signed partially over the photographer's blindly-embossed logo "To Leroy T. Vernon With Compliments Of J. G. Cannon." 12.5x15.5" original frame with glass. Backing paper gone. VF. From the collection of Leroy T. Vernon, a campaign manager for Taft and later Washington D.C. reporter for the Chicago Daily News. Comes with Hake's COA.
