Item Description
2x9.5x9.5" box. Licensed by King Features Syndicate 1935. Marx. Box has handling wear along sides but still displays very nicely, especially top panel. Overall VG. Tin litho toy is complete with built-in key. Popeye is seen in the plane which circles overhead when attached to center post. Cardboard insert on toy base has amusing lithograph with Olive Oyl, Swea' Pea, Wimpy and a barking dog chasing a motorcycle policeman with a ticket in his hand. Train circles the outer ring of the base. Each train car roof has the name of one of the characters - Wimpy, Sappo, Olive Oyl and Swea' Pea with a lithographed head of the figure jutting out of the window. Wimpy and Sappo and lettering that reads "Hamburgers" are shown on the tunnels. Light wear with scattered pinpoint paint nicks. VF. Rare with box.
