Item Description
This ring is Annie's most ingenious. It was issued by Quaker cereals very briefly during their final year of program sponsorship in 1942. This is one of about 13 examples known to us and the overall condition is VF. The ring base shows "Pursuit Plane" and "Bombing Plane" on each side. Small area of luster off above the Bombing image but about 97% luster remains on the ring base. Ring top has small rivet holding three individual moveable brass plates. Each plate has a small hole of a graduated size and the concept is to hold the ring to the sky to look through the hole and if plane fits within one of these holes than the plane is at the altitude designated on that piece of brass. The three denominations are "10,000 Ft" on top plate which has 80% bright luster. Middle "5,000 Ft" plate has no luster but clean brass. Bottom "2,500 Ft" plate has a couple of rubs but over 90% luster. A very nice example of a very scarce ring.
