Item Description
This rarely seen and very striking button has a wide collet on the reverse with a fixed horizontal bar pin. No maker's name. Collet has a couple of trivial dents at the bottom and the piece has a very slight bend to it making the front surface just a trifle concave to the touch. On the bottom of the button are a pair of 1/16" nicks at 7 o'clock with dark stain mostly along the very bottom edge but with some small marks within the panel holding their names plus a small area on Sherman's tie and a pair of pinpoints on extreme edge at 1 o'clock. While the wear is significant, we think some allowances should be made for the rarity and graphic appeal of this piece. It is in a 2.25" Mint brass luster rope frame held on by six tabs. Rarely seen.
