Item Description
4x6" single-sided postcard features no images other than the classic "Superman" comic book title logo. Postcard was issued by New York, NY radio station WOR 710 (part of the Mutual Broadcasting System) to promote July 3, 1940 event which was "Superman Day" at the New York World's Fair. Card mentions "The Adventures Of Superman" radio show and invites children to attend the Fair and "Present This Card For A Free Superman Magazine" at American Jubilee section of the Fair where people could meet costumed Superman actor. This is a Mutual file copy as reverse has "File - Mutual" stamp. NM. Rare and first we've offered in our 49 years. Franco Toscanini Collection.
