Item Description
8x10.5" sign issued in 1944 for use in stores, this example has "Whelan Drug Stores" imprint at bottom. Sign was issued in recognition of store's support of "The United States Treasury's War Savings Stamp Program," which awarded one 10¢ war stamp for every 10 punches received on "Comic Savers Card" punch card (see following items #2148-2149), which is pictured along w/Superman image. Faint vertical crease at center as issued w/pinholes at top corners but sign remains totally bright and clean and is o/w VF/Exc. Rare and first we've offered in our 49 years. Franco Toscanini Collection.
