Item Description
Large 22.5x34" framed canvas that has been painted and flocked. Top/bottom have ornate wooden borders and canvas has wooden frame backing. "Remember Pearl Harbor" text at top w/six American warplanes emerging from text. Scene shows patriotic shield and detailed image of Pearl Harbor, w/total of seven ships seen; two featured prominently at front (but o/w unidentified). Foreground features two banks of anti-aircraft artillery w/soaring American flag and star and strips shield at front center. Art is unsigned, but c. 1942. To the left of the far left ship's tower there is a 2" vertical split to fabric. This is in black area of surrounding hills and has barely visible professional repair. Two chips off lower left spear-shaped frame accent and some loss of gold paint from frame. Back cardboard covering shows obvious and heavy damage, but this does not affect front's display, which remains VF. Aside from paper posters of the era, this is the largest Remember Pearl Harbor item we've seen in our 49 years.
