Item Description
1". DePriest was a noted civil rights activist and the first African American elected to congress in the 20th century and the first outside of the South when Illinois first district elected him in 1928. To oppose US entry into WWII the America First Committee formed in September of 1939 in DePriest's home city of Chicago. This litho button reflects his position as "Committeeman." Extremely light 1/2" dent line at center left side shows slightly in reflected light. Paint 98% mint. Scarce.
