Item Description
Unlisted in Hake this piece is 2.5" in diameter and 3/8" thick. The underside is a mirror with slight cloudiness but still highly reflective and with about 97% of the silvering intact. The side is a tin rim which has three areas which have lost a bit of the silver flashing so these areas have a white coloration to them but there are no breaks in the metal and these are seen only from the side view with about 80% of the silvering still intact. The top of the piece is glass over an embossed metal depiction of a rather fierce Teddy Roosevelt. His mouth area is open and lined in red and there are five small white beads serving as his teeth with the object being to place all five within the mouth area. The item was German made and bottom edge of the interior carries the inscription "D.R.G.M. No. 116769." The metal colored insert depicting TR against dark green background is in essentially Mint condition. Quite scarce and likely issued as a novelty for the 1904 campaign.
