Item Description
1-7/16" in silvered white metal with small hole as issued. Obverse has eagle above large jugate images with the names and date below "Polk/1844/Dallas" plus slogan at bottom "The People's Candidates." Reverse has female figure representing Liberty plus images of spinning wheel, sheep, agricultural implements and a cask inscribed "Tobacco." The slogan at top reads "Success Will Crown Our Efforts." Bottom edge carries name of the engraver "Wagner." Very scarce. Numerous but pinpoint dots of silvering off the portraits and towards the right edge but in total over 95% silver luster remains on the front and closer to 98% remaining on the reverse. Few examples would equal the condition of this one.
