Item Description
16.75x21.25". 1940s. Heavy stock white paper sign with text at top "Peerless Hair Dressing On Sale Here" and featuring multiple portraits of several African American women modeling hair styles. Just right of center is "Photos By The Browns" that is part of the design. Center has location and hours for "Peerless Beauty Supply Richmond, VA." A classic beauty salon sign, displaying twenty of the many hair-styles of the day. Pair of holes at top as made. Otherwise only very faint edge toning and a less than 1/2" vertical tear at bottom right in the margin. VF/Exc. and would display Mint if framed and matted. Also included is a 14x22" "Peerless Hair Dressing" "Price List"heavy stock paper with hole at top center as made. Light brown staining in the margins and some very faint spots throughout. Additionally three areas with red paint on surface most notable are 1.5 x2" area at bottom just left of center and a small dot on the "C" of "Richmond" in the center panel. Fine.
